Who doesn't love a good before and after? We are so lucky that we get to be right in the middle of seeing spaces transform and come to life. Our client reached out to us to help her transform her guest bath in her condo and we couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out.

Before we share more, lets look at what what it looked like the first day we saw it!

As you can see the space was outdated and needed some TLC. The bathroom is a good size, but it felt so small because of the dark walls, low ceilings, and lack of natural light. Since it was in a condo we couldn't do anything about the ceiling height, so we decided to make it as bright and minimal as possible and use a large mirror to bounce light around. There was also a lack of storage space in this room considering it doubles as the laundry room as well. Condos are a tricky animal because there are random concrete pillars and ducting behind the walls and you never know what you can actually achieve until you start tearing back the sheetrock. We needed more space for the laundry room, so our initial plan was to cut into the space behind the bathroom door and create more space that direction, but it has required duct work that could not be rerouted. Our only option was to push the plumbing wall of the bathtub over to the right, lose the bathtub and create a walk-in shower allowing more space for laundry storage.

Once we decided on that design option we had to get approvals from the residence below (because we had to tear into their ceiling to move the drain), the building management, and the city of Houston. Not an easy task, but once all the approvals were given it was a go and construction was underway. We wanted a minimal color pallet and a seamless design to really make the bathroom feel elegant and timeless. Elevating the custom rift white oak vanity was crucial in making the bathroom feel more open and bigger.

The bathroom just makes sense now. We were able to create more space for the laundry and close it off with doors. The vanity has plenty of storage as well. The clean and classic bathroom has a very luxurious spa feel now and I think any guest would love to use this bathroom! Let us know what you think in the comments below!
